Louisville climbs in polls

The Cardinals return to a pair of top 25 polls following 31-28 win at Notre Dame on Saturday

The University of Louisville returned to both the AP and Coaches Top 25 polls following the 31-28 win at Notre Dame on Saturday.

The Cardinals, who improved to 8-3 on the season, entered the USA Today Coaches Poll at No.23. U of L is one spot ahead of Clemson. Georgia Tech, winner of the ACC Coastal Division, climbed to No.15, while defending national champion and ACC Atlantic Division champion Florida State remained at No.2.

Louisville entered the Associated Press at No.24, one spot behind Clemson. Georgia Tech is No.16 and Florida State continued to hold the top ranking in the poll.

The updated College Football Playoff poll, which placed Louisville at No.24 last week, will be released on Monday.

The Cardinals will host rival Kentucky on Saturday at noon to close the regular season.
