Two Louisville commits to play for titles

Two future University of Louisville football players will be playing for high school state championships next weekend. Troy Thingstad will play for a title in Alabama, while Matt Colburn will be playing for a title in South Carolina.

Two University of Louisville football commitments moved on to state championship games next weekend with their respective high school teams.

Offensive line commitment Troy Thingstad helped Mobile, Ala., St. Paul's Episcopal into the Class 5-A state championship game in Alabama.

St. Paul's beat Jackson 31-21 in the 5-A state semifinals and will play Pleasant Grove in the state title game on Thursday in Auburn, Ala.

Another U of L commitment playing for some hardware will be Matt Colburn. The running back finished with 28 carries for 141 yards and two touchdowns as Dutch Fort whipped Byrnes 41-6 in the Class 4-A Division I state semifinals in South Carolina.

Dutch Fork will play Hillcrest next Saturday for the title.
