The University of Louisville football team has a surprise visitor on the list of prospects in this weekend for official visits.
The Cardinals were expecting eight but ended up getting nine, including monster junior-college offensive lineman Idarius Ray.
The 6-foot-7, 324-pound Ray is a native of Palo Duro, Tx., and played this season at Los Angeles Valley College in Valley Glen, Calif.
Ray, who appears to have played one season at Eastern New Mexico before heading to LA Valley, is a bit of an unknown in the recruiting world.
But his highlight tape shows a large tackle who has really good footwork and athletic ability. His name surfaced earlier this week for several schools, including U of L.
The Cardinals are also hosting Jacksonville, Fla., First Coast prospects William Sweet, Sherrod Pittman and Tristan Payton; Prattville, Ala., lineman Kenny Thomas; Winter Garden, Fla., West Orange teammates Jalen Julius and Dexter Williams; Charlotte, N.C., Rocky River cornerback Jaire Alexander and Hiram, Ga., linebacker Jonathan Greenard.
All eight of those prospects and Ray arrived on Friday and the visits will last until early Sunday. The prospects attended the U of L men's basketball game on Friday night.
