The University of Louisville football team is headed to Charlotte.
After a day of speculation that had the Cardinals headed to Orlando and Nashville and several other places, U of L lands in the Belk Bowl.
The Cardinals will take on Georgia on Dec. 30 at 6:30 p.m. in Bank of America Stadium.
It will be the first meeting between the two schools and the second time U of L has landed in the Belk Bowl. U of L lost to N.C. State in the 2011 Belk Bowl.
The game will pit U of L defensive coordinator Todd Grantham against his old team. He was the defensive coordinator for the Bulldogs for four seasons before leaving after last season to join Bobby Petrino's staff at Louisville.
U of L is 9-3 and has won three in a row, also winning two straight bowl games.
Georgia (9-3) started the season ranked No. 12 in the polls and finished ranked No. 13 in the College Football Playoff poll.
