University of Louisville football coach Bobby Petrino made a visit to Hinds Community College in Jackson, Miss., on Monday to chat with several prospects.
One of those prospects - offensive lineman Justin Sandifer - will make an official visit to the Louisville campus this weekend.
The 6-foot-5, 310-pound Sandifer, who had originally been committed to West Virginia, is a strong, athletic lineman who will have two years to play at the college he picks. Sandifer is expected to sign with a school next week and enroll in January.
Hinds assistant coach Dwike Wilson said LSU, Florida and Georgia all offered Sandifer back in the spring but his recruitment now has been "weird and quiet" until U of L has come calling in recent weeks.
"He's a very big, athletic kid and he's mean," Wilson said. "He's a mean one."
Sandifer is originally from Greenwood, Miss., and graduated from Leflore County.
