He'll sign with the Cardinals on Wednesday and will arrive at U of L on January 7, 2015.
Bailey chose Louisville over Fresno State, Maryland, NC State, Purdue, Southern Miss and others. Prior to checking out the Cardinals program, he also visited Fresno State, Maryland and NC State.
"I'm looking for a bond with my d-line coach," Bailey told Cardinal Authority prior to making his visit. "I'm also looking for a bond with my teammates. I come from a big family, so I want to feel like its a family. I want to have a coach that is someone that will teach me everything that they know."
Bailey felt that family atmosphere while visiting Louisville.
"No doubt," he said minutes after announcing his decision via Twitter. "I know that Coach (Todd) Grantham and Coach Petrino will take care of me since I'm a member of their first full class there. I can tell that I'll fit in good there."
While on his visit, he spent time visiting campus, the dorms and more, but it was his time studying the team depth chart and upcoming schedule that helped make his decision.
"I liked what I saw after seeing the depth chart and the strength of schedule," he explained. "They finished 9-3 in their first year in the ACC, so you know they are going in the right direction."
Bailey spent time with Josh Harvey-Clemons, Shaq Wiggins, Lorenzo Mauldin and others while on his visit.
"They made me feel comfortable," he said. "I had a long talk with Mauldin, a real long talk. They all told me that if I do what I'm supposed to that I'll play."
The 6-foot-5, 280-pound defensive end had a stellar 2014 season at Pearl River, recording a league-best 10 sacks, to go with 22 tackles for a loss. A product of Atlanta (Ga.) Bannaker High School, Bailey formed a relationship with Cardinals defensive coordinator Todd Grantham during the recruiting process.
"I'm just thankful for this opportunity," he said.
His commitment brings the official total for 2015 pledges to 22. The class currently ranks 30th in the country by Scout.com.
