University of Louisville basketball coach Rick Pitino wasn't happy after his team's dull effort in beating UNC Wilmington 68-57 in the 13th annual Billy Minardi Classic on Sunday night at the KFC Yum! Center.
And Montrezl Harrell said for good reason.
"We were not ready," Harrell said in a fired-up chat with the media. "We were not ready and that's not the way it's going to be."
Harrell led the Cardinals with 19 points and 17 rebounds, while Terry Rozier added 19 points, four rebounds and three steals and Wayne Blackshear had 11. Chris Jones added 10 points for U of L, which was outscored 20-9 in bench points.
Louisville hit 27 of 65 from the field but just 1 of 13 three-pointers. The Cardinals are now 9-0 on the season.
