U of L gets final JUCO signee - Khalil Hunter

Eastern Arizona offensive lineman Khalil Hunter became the fifth junior-college signee of the day for the University of Louisville football team. Hunter is 6-foot-3, 290-pound lineman with two years of eligibility left for the Cardinals.

University of Louisville football coach Bobby Petrino and offensive line coach Chris Klenakis told Khalil Hunter they needed him in the trenches.

And Hunter wanted an early opportunity to play.

"I wanted to find a place where I could play right away," said Hunter, who was the fifth junior-college signee for the Cardinals on Wednesday.

Hunter is a native of Orlando, Fla., and is a 6-foot-3, 290-pound lineman who committed after his official visit. He picked U of L over South Florida, Georgia, Cincinnati, Georgia Southern, Memphis and several others.

Hunter said early playing time has been talked about and is a "big, big" factor.

"(Klenakis) told me they need linemen," Hunter said.

Hunter will enroll at U of L next month and will participate in spring ball.
