University of Louisville junior forward Montrezl Harrell has been suspended for one game for the flagrant two foul that he was called for during the final minute of the Cardinals 76-67 win at Western Kentucky.
The suspension was handed down by the Atlantic Coast Conference.
"The Atlantic Coast Conference has issued a one game suspension to Louisville's Montrezl Harrell after he received a flagrant foul two during the Cardinals’ game against Western Kentucky on Saturday.
The suspension will be served by Harrell in Louisville's next game against CSU-Northridge on Tuesday.
The ACC considers the matter closed and will not have further comment."
Harrell visited with the media following the game at soldout E.A. Diddle Arena.
"I overreacted in the heat of the moment," he said. "I just want to apologize to my teammates. I want to apologize to the University of Louisville and apologize to my coaching staff. I know that I shouldn't have reacted that way and I'm truly apologize for the way that I reacted and I have to move forward."
The All-American is averaging 16.7 points and 10 rebounds through 10 games. Earlier in the season, he enjoyed a five-game stretch where he recorded a double-double.
