Louisville baseball No.12 in preseason poll

The University of Louisville baseball team is ranked 12th in Collegiate Baseball Newspaper preseason poll

The start of the 2015 college baseball season is less than two months away and the University of Louisville is again being considered among the nation's top programs.

The Cardinals will begin the season ranked No.12 in the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper preseason poll. It marks the eighth consecutive season that Louisville has begun the season ranked among the nation's top 25.

Louisville has made two consecutive trips to the College World Series and has reached Omaha three times under the direction of head coach Dan McDonnell.

Louisville is among seven ACC schools in the Collegiate Baseball preseason poll, tied for the most from any conference. The ACC is led in the poll by No. 3 Virginia followed by No. 11 Florida State, the 12th-ranked Cardinals and No. 14 Miami in the top 15. North Carolina is 24th, Georgia Tech is No. 26 and Clemson is 28th.

The Cardinals will begin the 2015 season on February 13 against Alabama State in the first of three games at the Clearwater Tournament. U of L will also face South Florida and Cal State Fullerton in the three-day event. The team's home-opener is slated for February 18 against Eastern Kentucky.
