Louisville downs Evansville 73-51

No.7 Louisville finished the out of conference portion of the schedule with a win over Evansville

Playing for the first time since a 70-57 road victory at No.24 California on December 21, University of Louisville head coach Jeff Walz spread the minutes against visiting Evansville throughout his deep roster. Eleven Cardinals played, with ten players clocking at least nine minutes and each factored into the team's 73-51 victory over the Purple Aces at the KFC Yum! Center.

The 7th-ranked Cardinals raced to a 13-0 lead, forcing a turnover on 6 of Evansville first 7 possessions. Getting points from each spot on the floor, it wasn't until senior guard Jude Schimmel drained a three-pointer with 11:12 remaining in the game that a player reached double-figure scoring.

Schimmel finished with 12 points no 5 of 7 shooting, while also handing out four assists and grabbing four steals. Emmonni Henderson just missed a double-double with 12 points and 9 rebounds.

Bria Smith had 11 points and 5 rebounds, while Myisha Hines-Allen led all with 10 rebounds.

Up next for the Cardinals (12-1) is the program's inaugural ACC contest as Georgia Tech visits the KFC Yum! Center on Friday night.
