No.5 Louisville bounced back after suffering its first defeat of the season with a 63-48 win over visiting Long Beach State on Tuesday evening. The Cardinals starting lineup featured a pair of new starters as freshmen Anas Mahmoud and Shaqquan Aaron got the call against the 49er's.
Sophomore guard Terry Rozier paced the Cardinals with 23 points, marking the third time this season that he's scored 20 or more. Rozier, who has led the team in scoring for the fifth time this season, also set a new career-best with 6 steals.
Mahmoud scored 4 points, while also totaling 3 rebounds and 2 blocks in 21 minutes of action.
The Cardinals shot 51.2 percent from the floor and hit 6 of 15 three-point attempts. It's the third time this season that U of L has shot 50 percent or better.
Up next for Louisville is the program's ACC opener as the Cardinals travel to Wake Forest on Sunday, January 4.
