Louisville offers two in-state prospects

The University of Louisville football staff is back on the road and has extended scholarship offers to a pair of in-state prospects. Cardinal Authority has the latest on the two in-state offers by the Cardinals' staff.

Two of the top young in-state football prospects in the state of Kentucky now have landed scholarship offers from the University of Louisville.

Paducah McCracken County wide receiver Zy'Aire Hughes and Lafayette quarterback Walker Wood both report offers on Thursday from the U of L staff.

The 6-foot-1, 187-pound Hughes is a junior playmaker for McCracken County. In 11 games Hughes threw for 1,135 yards and eight touchdowns. He rushed for 585 yards and 11 touchdowns and also caught 49 passes for 573 yards and five touchdowns.

Hughes has committed to play for Kentucky.

The 6-foot, 170-pound Wood is a top 2017 quarterback prospect in the state. He completed 116 of 215 passes for 1,830 yards and 18 touchdowns and rushing 174 times for 1,093 yards and 18 more touchdowns as a sophomore for the Generals.

The U of L offer was the first for Wood.
