U of L football: Recruiting notebook

With three weeks left until national signing day, the University of Louisville football staff is out and about across the country recruiting. Here are a few notes from some of the happenings on Tuesday from the staff.

PETRINO IN South Florida

Louisville head coach Bobby Petrino spent the first of a couple of days in the state of Florida, visiting a couple of South Florida prospects.

Petrino went with Lamar Thomas and Terrell Buckley on an in-home visit to see Miami Killian cornerback Sheldrick Redwine. He committed to U of L earlier this month but took a visit to Auburn last week and said he was only "60 percent" committed to the Cardinals.

Redwine is expected to make his visit to U of L this weekend.

Petrino stopped to see Pembroke Pines, Fla., Flanagan three-star wide receiver Emonee Spence earlier in the day. The 6-foot-3, 180-pound Spence will visit U of L this weekend and is expected to visit West Virginia the following weekend.

Spence had been previously committed to Miami and visited Central Florida last weekend.

Louisville offered another athlete in the 2015 class on Tuesday night when the Cardinals extended one to Pratville, Ala., quarterback/cornerback Keith Washington.

The 6-foot-2, 170-pound three-star prospect has already visited Indiana and has Duke, North Carolina, California and Northwestern also after him.

Washington could make a visit one of the final two weekends before signing day.

The staff offered a few new younger guys on Tuesday:

***U of L becomes the first major school offer for College Park, Ga., Woodward Academy wide receiver Jacob Robertson.

***The Cards are the first offer for Tucker, Ga., linebacker Brian Strozier.

***U of L was the 17th offer for Panama City, Fla., four-star defensive end Janrius Robinson, who is committed to Florida State.
