Mississippi State commit visiting Louisville

Ocala, Fla., Trinity Catholic linebacker Darrien McNair, a longtime Mississippi State commitment, will be one of seven prospects on official visits to the University of Louisville this weekend. McNair is a three-star prospect and teammate of current U of L offensive line commitment Geron Christian.

Ocala, Fla., Trinity Catholic linebacker Darrien McNair made a verbal commitment to Mississippi State more than a year ago.

But in the final few weeks before signing day, the 6-foot-3, 230-pound McNair is taking a few visits to make sure Starkville, Miss., is the place for him.

McNair, a three-star prospect, made a trip to Kentucky last weekend and now will be back in the Bluegrass State later today for an official visit at Louisville.

The No. 62 ranked outside linebacker on Scout, McNair is familiar with the U of L program because his teammate and friend from Trinity Catholic - offensive lineman Geron Christian - is committed to the Cardinals. Christian's brother, Gerald, just graduated from U of L.

McNair also received a lot of recent interest from Florida after the coaching change.

During his career at Trinity Catholic, McNair finished with 232 tackles, 34 tackles for a loss six sacks and nine interceptions. He had 75 tackles and four interceptions as a senior.
