Petrino visits Jaylen Smith in Mississippi

University of Louisville football commitment Jaylen Smith had a visit from his future coach - Bobby Petrino - on Monday at his school in Pascagoula, Miss. Smith recently made his official visit to U of L and said he's "ready" to sign with the Cardinals next week.

University of Louisville football coach Bobby Petrino spent time in Mississippi on Monday, visiting several prospects with just more than a week left before signing day.

And one of those prospects was Pasgoula, Miss., High School wide receiver Jaylen Smith, who made his official visit two weeks ago with the Cardinals.

"Yes, he was here," Smith reported. "It was very nice. I can't wait to sign."

The 6-foot-2, 195-pound Smith, a three-star prospect who committed to U of L in August, said Cincinnati, California and South Alabama have all tried to get him to flip his commitment but he's remained firm to the Cardinals.

"It's the right place for me," Smith said.

Smith is one of 24 verbal commitments in the '15 class for U of L. Signing day is next Wednesday and he'll do it early that morning at school.

Petrino also made a visit to Madison, Miss., standout Trey Smith, who is also committed and will sign with U of L next week.
