DE Greenard inks with Louisville

One of the first confirmed signees for the University of Louisville on national signing day came from Hiram, Ga., defensive end Jonathan Greenard.

One of the early confirmed signees on National Signing Day came from Hiram, Ga., defensive end Jonathan Greenard, who had been committed for over six months.

The 6-foot-4, 230-pound Greenard listened to other schools - including Missouri - but stayed committed to the Cardinals throughout the process.

"It's a weight off my shoulders," Greenard said after signing. "And it's a dream come true. I just can't wait to get started."

Greenard said playing for defensive coordinator Todd Grantham is "going to be a lot of fun," and was a huge reason he picked Louisville.

Greenard had a sensational senior season at Hiram, netting eight sacks on the season. He finished his career with 13 sacks.

Greenhard has posted a personal best of 4.71 seconds in the 40-yard dash, to go along with a 33” standing vertical jump, and a maximum of 270 pounds in the bench press. This is the first year that he has not played basketball.
