'Dynamite' Allen signs with Louisville

Citra, Fla., North Marion running back James 'Dynamite' Allen signed with the Cardinals on Wednesday morning.

Citra, Fla., North Marion running back James Allen was quick to send his Letter of Intent to the University of Louisville on Wednesday morning and secure a spot in the Cardinals future backfield.

Nicknamed 'Dynamite' due to his speed and ability to explode in the open field, the 6-foot, 180-pound Allen signed with the Cardinals over Arkansas, Auburn, Cincinnati, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Miami, Ole Miss and others.

"This kid can really scoot and is one of the more underrated players in the state," reports the Scout.com analysis. "He has good size, speed and shows the ability to make some pretty electric plays. Allen can do it between the tackles or in space. He possesses excellent vision and balance, which are two key characteristics I look for in backs. He has a terrific burst and can really accelerate."

Allen finished his senior season with 1,650 yards and 18 touchdowns. He averaged 9.7 yards a carry for North Marion.
