G.G. Robinson finally signs with Louisville

Lilburn, Ga., defensive end G.G. Robinson ended up signing with the University of Louisville after a late offer from Auburn, where his father played.

Auburn made a huge late push, but Lilburn (Ga.) Parkview defensive end G.G. Robinson re-affirmed his commitment to the University of Louisville and signed with the Cardinals.

Robinson had committed to Louisville in August, and said earlier this week that he was "firm" with the Cardinals. But on Tuesday night, Auburn offered Robinson a scholarship and the U of L staff was fretting the thought of losing him.

Rated three-star prospect by Scout.com, Robinson collected scholarship offers from Auburn, Florida, Missouri and others following his commitment to the Cardinals. His father played for the Tigers, and he visited the Gators, Iowa State and Kansas State.

U of L coach Bobby Petrino, L.D. Scott and Todd Grantham all visited Robinson recently after the 6-foot-3, 260-pound prospect made his official visit to U of L.

"I'm a man of my word," said Robinson this week.
