Walz after more elite talent in '16 class

University of Louisville women's basketball coach Jeff Walz is after more elite-level talent in the Class of 2016. The U of L staff was on the road Tuesday night watching two top prospects and three of the top 35 will visit on Sunday.

University of Louisville women's basketball coach Jeff Walz signed the Class of 2015's top-ranked recruiting class nationally. Now, Walz and his staff want another elite class.

U of L is recruiting a handful of top prospects in the Class of 2016, including No. 1 ranked Lauren Cox. The 6-foot-4 Cox is from Flower Mound, Texas, High School and will make a visit to U of L on Sunday for the North Carolina game.

Cox is ranked No. 1 in the nation by ESPN.com and ProspectsNation.com.

Louisville assistant coach Sam Purcell was in Dallas on Tuesday night watching Cox and Flower Mound against No. 13 ranked Natalie Chou of Plano West. She is also a U of L target.

U of L will also host No. 3 ranked Tori McCoy of Illinois and Kylee Shook of Colorado Springs, Colo., this weekend for the UNC game.

All three visitors - Cox, McCoy and Shook - are 6-foot-4 prospects.
