Chris Jones dismissed from Louisville team

University of Louisville senior point guard Chris Jones has been dismissed from the University of Louisville basketball team. The school sent out a release about the news on Sunday afternoon just before boarding a plane to Atlanta for Monday's game against Georgia Tech.

It didn't take long for University of Louisville senior point guard Chris Jones to get in trouble again.

Jones, who returned from a one-game suspension on Saturday, was dismissed from the team by U of L coach Rick Pitino on Sunday. The school announced the news in a released.

"There will be no comment on the matter," the release said.

U of L will play at Georgia Tech on Monday night at 7 p.m. The Cardinals are 21-6 on the season with four games left before the ACC Tournament.

Jones, who was suspended last week for the Syracuse game for what Pitino called "things unrelated to basketball," came back and had 17 points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals in 36 minutes in a 55-53 win over Miami.

After the game, Jones said he had "learned his lesson. I hated sitting there and watching my team and not being able to help."

Now, less than 24 hours after his comments Jones is dismissed.

Jones averaged 13.7 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.6 assists a game. He came to U of L prior to last season after being name Junior College National Player of the Year.
