Pitino checks out JUCO guard

University of Louisville basketball coach Rick Pitino was on the recruiting trail again on Wednesday night, checking out junior college guard Mychal Mulder of Vincennes, Ind. Pitino and his staff are looking for another guard in the Class of 2015.

University of Louisville basketball coach Rick Pitino's search of another guard in the Class of 2015 took him to Vincennes, Ind., on Wednesday night.

Pitino and assistant coaches Kenny Johnson and Mike Balado watched Vincennes College guard Mychal Mulder.

The 6-foot-4 Mulder is a native of Canada and finished with 26 points in the game, including 6 of 7 from three-point range.

Mulder averages 14.5 points a game for Vincennes, a team that is ranked No. 1 in JUCO and 29-0 on the season. He is shooting 45 percent from three-point range.

In high school, Mulder played at Central Catholic in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. He helped his team to a 3-A title as a senior. Mulder was a WECSSAA all-star selection four times and twice was named league MVP.

U of L has signed three players in the Class of 2015 - Donovan Mitchell, Deng Adel and Ray Spalding - and guard Ryan McMahon is expected to sign next month.
