Georgia DE lands Louisville offer; will visit

Lovejoy, Ga., High School defensive end Chris Henderson has landed an offer from the University of Louisville and will visit the Cardinals this weekend. Henderson is considered an under-the-radar prospect in the Class of 2016.

The University of Louisville football staff is well-known for finding a few hidden gems in the recruiting game, especially in states like Georgia and Alabama.

On Monday, the staff offered another under-the-radar prospect in Georgia.

Lovejoy, Ga., High School defensive end Chris Henderson said he was chatting with U of L offensive coordinator Garrick McGee when he landed the offer.

"I was surprised," said Henderson, who reports the offer from U of L is his first. "Coach McGee is recruiting me. It felt really good to get that offer."

The 6-foot-3, 240-pound Henderson said he didn't "know too much" about the U of L program but noted he will "learn about them this weekend."

Henderson will visit U of L for Saturday's Junior Day.

"I'm excited, I will be up there for Junior Day," Henderson said.

As a junior, Henderson helped lead Lovejoy to a 7-4 record. He finished the season with nine sacks to lead the team.

Henderson participated last summer in the Rising Stars All-Star game.
