The University of Louisville will make 41st NCAA Tournament appearance when the 4th-seeded Cardinals face 13-seed UC Irvine in East Region action on Friday in Seattle, Wash.
Here's a closer look at Louisville and its upcoming game against the UC Irvine Anteaters:
1: Playing its first game in Seattle, marks the first time the program has played in the state of Washington.
2: U of L and UC Irvine played two common opponents during the regular season. The Cardinals defeated a pair of fellow Big West Conference members Cal State Northridge and Long Beach. UC Irvine swept two games against Northridge, while the Anteaters split with Long Beach State.
4: Louisville is one of four Division I schools in the nation which has won 20 or more games in each of the past 13 seasons. Kansas, Duke and Gonzaga join the Cardinals program as the only to accomplish the feat.
5: Louisville is participating in the NCAA Tournament East Region for the fifth time in program history and have posted a 7-4 record. U of L has reached the Elite Eight twice out of the East Region.
6: Louisville ranks 6th with 72 all-time NCAA Tournament wins. The Cardinals have an overall tournament record of 72-41.
9: Louisville is making it's ninth consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance. It also marks the ninth time that the Cardinals have entered the NCAA Tournament as a No. 4 seed, including four of the last five years. U of L advanced to the NCAA Final Four from a No. 4 seed in both 2005 and 2012. The Cardinals have an overall 16-9 record as a No. 4 seed.

The Cards have reached the Sweet 16 on 20 occasions and have advanced to the Elite Eight four of the last six seasons.
