The University of Louisville women's basketball team is headed to Tampa, Fla., for the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
The Cardinals learned on Monday night that they are the No. 3 seed in the Albany Regional and will open up at South Florida. The sixth-seeded Bulls and No. 11 seed LSU will play in the other first round game in Tampa.
"We're excited," U of L coach Jeff Walz said. "We get to play some place where it's warm. We kind of figured that might be where we were at."
No. 1 Connecticut is the top seed in the Albany Region, while Kentucky earned the No. 2 seed. U of L would face Kentucky in the Sweet 16 game if both won two games.
The Cardinals would have played at home but couldn't because the school is hosting second and third round men's NCAA games this weekend.
Louisville is 25-6 and finished fourth in the ACC.
BYU (23-9) made the field by winning last week's West Coast Conference tournament as the No. 5 seed. The Cougars defeated San Francisco in the title game, 76-65.
