NCAA Tourney: Louisville and the record book

The University of Louisville opens play in the NCAA Tournament on Friday at 4:10 p.m. EDT in Seattle against UC-Irvine. Here’s a look at some of the Cardinals’ and where they stack up with career and season numbers heading into the NCAA.

10.1 U of L sophomore guard Terry Rozier is second among players in the ACC in per game scoring improvement from last season. Rozier went from 7.0 to 17.1 points per game. %%MATCH_10%%’s Rakeem Christmas led the league at 11.7.

25 - U of L junior forward Montrezl Harrell has 25 career double-double games, including 13 this season. He’s No. 1 among the active leaders for a career and for the season in the ACC. Wake Forest’s Devin Thomas had 21 for his career and finished with 12 this season.

26 - Freshman point guard Quentin Snider has just 26 turnovers in 438 minutes a game. He has played in all 32 games for the Cardinals.

45 - Senior Wayne Blackshear has scored in double figures in 20 games this season and now has 45 double-figure games during his career.

58.8 - Harrell’s career field-goal percentage, which ranks fourth all-time in school history. Felton Spencer (62.8), David Padgett (61.3) and Clifford Rozier (61.3) are the only players with better career percentages.

70 - Harrell has 70 dunks this season, the second most in a single-season for U of L. He set the school record last year with 97 dunks.

90 - Sophomore Mangok Mathiang has 90 career blocked shots, including 51 last season and 39 this campaign.

114 - Harrell has 114 career blocked shots and ranks fifth among active leaders in blocks in the ACC.

156 - Sophomore Terry Rozier has 156 career assists in two seasons, including 89 this season.

212 - Harrell has 212 career dunks, which makes him the all-time leader in school history. He passed Pervis Ellison’s old mark of 162 with seven dunks against %%MATCH_11%% back in December.

391 - Senior Wayne Blackshear has 391 career rebounds.

751 - Harrell has 751 career rebounds, which makes him the third active leader among career rebounders in the ACC.

807 - Rozier has 807 career points in two years for the Cardinals, including 548 this season.

979 - Blackshear has 979 career points and needs just 21 to become the 67th player in school history to surpass 1000 points.

1,232 - Harrell has 1,232 career points and ranks him ? in school history. He’s No. 6 among active scoring leaders in the ACC and ranks No. 26 on the U of L all-time scoring list just 15 points behind Rodney McCray.
