Freeman leaving U of L women's team

Freshman Ariana Freeman informed Cardinal Authority on Friday night that she is transferring from the University of Louisville. She said she isn't sure what school she will attend.

Ariana Freeman, who played in 19 games this season for the University of Louisville women's basketball team, is transferring.

"It's true," Freeman said in a text message to Cardinal Authority.

The 5-foot-9 freshman from Manassas, Va., said she wasn't sure what school she would attend. She averaged 5.2 minutes a game for the Cardinals.

Freeman scored 16 points, hitting 5 of 19 field goals on the season. She also had 23 rebounds, two assists and two steals on the season.

In high school, Freeman was a member of the ESPN top 100 at Paul VI Catholic. She surpassed the 1,000-point mark as a junior and averaged 16.2 points as a senior.
