Avon, Ind., back checks out U of L

Avon, Ind., all-purpose back Darian Love spent time at the University of Louisville on Junior Day last weekend. Love explains why Louisville felt "like a very good fit."

Avon, Ind., High School all-purpose back Darian Love said he believes Northern Illinois is getting close to making him an offer, which would be the first one for Love.

But after Saturday, the 5-foot-9, 180-pound Love said after Saturday he's hoping to keep in touch with another school.

Love spent time at the University of Louisville's Junior Day and said he "loved every minute" of his time on campus.

"It felt great to be there," Love said. "It felt like all the coaches connected with the players so well. It's a fast-paced offense just like my high school and is just so nice there.

"It seems like a real good fit for me."

Love said he spent some time talking to U of L running backs coach Kolby Smith, who he called a "really great guy."

The U of L staff asked him to come back in June for a camp and Love said "Oh yeah, most definitely I will be back."

Love has been to Northern Illinois, Cincinnati and Notre Dame and said other schools like Indiana and Army are recruiting him.

In 10 games as a junior, Love carried 127 times for 716 yards - 5.6 yards a carry - and seven touchdowns.
