RB 'loved' U of L visit; will camp with Cards

Holly Springs, N.C., High School running back Tray Staten is getting a lot of interest from ACC schools, including the University of Louisville. Staten visited for Junior Day and talks about perhaps a return trip to the U of L campus.

Holly Springs, N.C., High School running back Tray Staten is drawing a lot of interest in his recruitment from several ACC schools.

The 5-foot-9, 185-pound Staten has been in contact with the University of Louisville for a couple of months and last weekend made the trip to U of L's campus.

Staten had a glowing review of the Cardinals' program.

"I like the way they play and the way the coaches talk to the players," Staten said. "I liked the way they lifted and practiced and the dorms. I just liked it all.

"It was a great visit."

Staten said the U of L coaches told him to continue to work on improving his game and also work on his ACT scores and then return for camp.

"I plan on camping at Duke, Virginia Tech and, of course, Louisville," Staten said. "I'd say after visiting Louisville they are No. 1."
