U of L women's hoops: Recruiting notes

Here are a few notebook items surrounding the University of Louisville's women's basketball recruiting class, which includes three McDonald's All-Americans.

DURR NAMED ALL-AMERICAN - AGAIN

Louisville signee Asia Durr is considered the No. 1 player in the nation and has picked up yet another postseason honor.

The 5-foot-10 Durr was a McDonald's All-American and on Tuesday was named as a USA Today First-Team All-American.

Durr is a two-time American Family Insurance ALL-USA player and two-time Gatorade state player of the year in Georgia. She averaged averaged 33.3 points, 6.4 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game for St. Pius in Atlanta.

COLE TABBED PLAYER OF THE YEAR

Richmond, Va., L.C. Bird guard Taja Cole was named Metro All-Area Player of the Year in the Richmond, Va., area earlier this week.

Cole finished her career at L.C. Bird as the third-leading scorer in school history with 1,520 career points. She finished third in steals with 308 and second in assists with 553.

Another McDonald's All-American, Cole finished with a school-record 533 points during her senior season.

THREE IN JORDAN CLASSIC

Durr and Cole will be joined by future teammate Brianna Jones of North Babylon, N.Y., in the Jordan Brand Classic All-Star game this weekend.

The game will be played on Friday night in the Barclays Center in New York.
