Five players already committed to the University of Louisville, including the son of an all-time great U of L player, are expected on campus Friday night for the Spring Game.
The Cardinals are expected to host about 50 prospects in all on the night at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium.
Among the commitments will be Peachtree Ridge, Ga., cornerback Baylen Buchanan. He committed to U of L last June and is the son of former U of L standout Ray Buchanan. The elder Buchanan is also expected at the Spring Game.
The 5-foot-11, 170-pound younger Buchanan has seen his recruitment pick up in recent months. He now has about a dozen offers, including Georgia and Georgia Tech, and was on a recent visit to Tennessee.
Stevenson, Ala., North Jackson tight end Austin Cummins, the most recent commitment to the Cardinals, will also visit for the game. The 6-foot-5, 235-pound Cummins gave the Cardinals a commitment on March 28.
Two of the commitments expected at the game are kids from the area: Manual defensive end Derek Dorsey and Trinity athlete Rodjay Burns. Dorsey has been to a number of spring practices, while Burns was at practice last week.
Carver, Ga., defensive lineman T.J. London is also expected. The 6-foot-4, 380-pound London picked U of L over Kentucky, Mississippi State, North Carolina State, along with growing interest from a host of others in early March.
