Cards offer '17 LBers from Alabama

Spanish Fort, Ala., 2017 linebacker Thomas Johnston has landed a scholarship offer from the University of Louisville. The 6-foot-2, 205-pound Johnston now has six offers.

Spanish Fort, Ala., High School 2017 linebacker Thomas Johnston now has six scholarship offers after landing one from the University of Louisville on Monday.

The Cardinals have recruited the state of Alabama well under Bobby Petrino and have offered more than a dozen players from the state.

The 6-foot-2, 250-pound Johnston had over 100 tackles in each of his first two seasons of high school also has offers from Clemson, North Carolina State, South Alabama, North Carolina and Southern Mississippi.

Johnston had 129 tackles as a freshman and was named second-team All-State after over 100 again as a sophomore at Spanish Fort. His first offer from from Clemson last May.

Tyler Johnston, the players older brother, is ranked as the No. 1 quarterback in the '16 class in Alabama. He also has an offer from Southern Miss.
