Louisville offer No. 2 for in-state QB

The University of Louisville is the second offer for Union, Ky., Ryle High School Class of 2017 quarterback Tanner Morgan. He also has an offer from Wake Forest.

The University of Louisville became the second offer on the board for one of the top in-state young prospects.

Union, Ky., Ryle High School Class of 2017 quarterback Tanner Morgan confirmed the Cardinals' offered him a scholarship on Thursday. His first offer came last month from Wake Forest and U of L is the second.

"I'm very excited and blessed about the offer," Morgan said. "I like what they are doing and they compete at a very high level at Louisville.

"They get guys to the next level."

The 6-foot-2, 205-pound Morgan said he's also been in contact with Illinois, Duke, Purdue, Cincinnati and several other schools.

Morgan, as a freshman and sophomore at Hazard High School, completed 297 of 429 passes for 4,990 yards, 56 touchdowns and only 13 interceptions. As a sophomore, Morgan had 31 touchdowns and just six interceptions.
