Louisville prepares for Super Regional

Fresh off a Regional its sweep, the the University of Louisville baseball team has turned its attention to this weekend's Super Regional opponent, Cal State Fullerton

University of Louisville head coach Dan McDonnell often refers to the phrase, "it's a new day," and that it is for the Cardinal Nine.

The Cardinals, who won an ACC record 25 league games this season, advanced to the Super Regional round after sweeping their opponents in the Louisville Regional, including a 13-4 win over Michigan in Sunday's final.

Louisville, with No.3 national seed, will host a familiar foe in Super Regional play in 13th-ranked Cal State Fullerton. The Cardinals and Titans met in the third game of the season at the Opening Weekend Challenge in Clearwater, Fla., with Fullerton taking a convincing 8-6 victory.

The pair also met twice in the 2009 Super Regional with the Cardinals falling dropping both decisions to host Fullerton.

McDonnell, along with Saturday starter Kyle Funkhouser and sophomore right fielder Corey Ray, visited with the media on Tuesday as the team continued practice.
