The University of Louisville football program has done an exceptional job of recruiting the state of Georgia since Bobby Petrino returned to the helm with a huge bit of help to defensive coordinator Todd Grantham.
The Cardinals struck again in the Peach State on Monday.
Suwanee, Ga. Peachtree Ridge High School 3-star running back Malik Staples has committed to Louisville. He picked the Cardinals over a host of other offers after making a second visit to campus on Monday.
Staples came to U of L on Monday with teammate Baylen Buchanan, who committed to U of L last June, and 2017 linebacker Breon Dixon, a four-star prospect who already holds an offer from U of L.
Staples is the third commitment from the state of Georgia in the '16 class.
The 6-foot, 215-pound Staples earned an offer from U of L in March when he visited for Junior Day. It was the fourth ACC offer at the time and he now has more than 20 total offers.
Staples, who also visited Tennessee, Georgia, North Carolina and several others this spring, is ranked as the No. 111 running back in the country and the No. 43 back in the South.
U of L now has 12 commitments in the Class of 2016.
