University of Louisville basketball coach Jeff Walz and his staff landed the No. 1 recruiting class in the Class of 2015 and are in on a bunch of top 2016 prospects.
Now, the Cardinals have started working on '17.
One of the elite '17 prospects in the country - Tampa, Fla., forward LaDazhia Williams was on campus Thursday making an unofficial visit to the Cardinals. She spent time touring the campus and talking with the U of L coaches.
The 6-foot-4 sophomore at Lakewood Ranch High School was named the Bradenton Herald All-Area Girls Basketball Player of The Year. Williams averaged a double-double with 19.8 points and 10.2 rebounds for the season.
Williams is also being recruited by Tennessee, South Carolina, Connecticut, Notre Dame and Ohio State among many others.
As a sophomore, Williams helped lead Lakewood Ranch into the region final for the first time in school history.
