5 Questions: 2017 target D.J. Harvey

Cardinal Authority will sit down this summer with some of the top targets for the University of Louisville basketball staff for five questions. Hyattsville, Md., DeMatha Catholic High School 2017 wing D.J. Harvey, a top target for the Cardinals.

Hyattsville, Md., DeMatha Catholic 2017 wing D.J. Harvey is still early in his recruiting process. But Harvey already has a bevy of offers, including the University of Louisville.

The Cardinals are likely to make Harvey a prime target. He's a teammate of U of L commitment V.J. King on Team Takeover and plays high school ball with U of L '16 target Markelle Fultz.

Harvey has a close relationship with U of L assistant coach Kenny Johnson.

Here's a 5 questions conducted with Harvey:

Cardinal Authority: It's early but what's the recruitment like?

Harvey: "June 15 was crazy. I had a lot of interest before but that was a whole lot of calls. There's a lot of new schools that have called. I just want to make sure I look at all of my options. I'm open right now."

Cardinal Authority: What will you look for in a school?

Harvey: "I want to go to the NCAA Tournament and be a winner. I love to win and want to make sure I'm on a winner and eventually I want to be a lottery pick."

Cardinal Authority: What is your relationship with coach Johnson?

Harvey: "I've known coach Kenny for a long time and he's a great guy. It's funny how he's at Louisville. I have been a big Louisville fan for a long time. I just love how they play."

Cardinal Authority: What is your relationship with V.J. King and has he talk to you about Louisville yet?

Harvey: "V.J. and I are great friends. I was so happy for him when I heard he committed. He's going to be great there at Louisville. I'm sure he will (work on Harvey) if he's still there when I make my decision."

Cardinal Authority: So where would you say Louisville is in the process?

Harvey: "Like I said, I'm open right now. There's no favorites but for sure they're up there."
