Louisville offers Javon Delaurier

Scout.com four-star power forward Javon Delaurier made an unofficial visit with Louisville on Monday

The University of Louisville has officially entered the race to land the commitment of 2016 four-star power forward Javin DeLaurier.

The Charlottesville, Va., prospect made an unofficial visit with the Cardinals program on Monday and collected a scholarship offer during his time in the Derby City.

One of the highest climbers in the latest Scout.com 2016 rankings, rising from No.100 to No.38 overall, DeLaurier is quickly compiling an impressive offer list. In addition to the Cardinals, the 6-foot-9 forward also has offers from Clemson, Florida, Georgetown, Georgia Tech, North Carolina, Texas, Vanderbilt, Wake Forest and others.

"DeLaurier now projects as a blue-chip prospect capable of playing for any school in the nation," said Rob Harrington, Scout.com National Recruiting Analyst. "He has gained athleticism and skill and also has raised his energy level, and at times he simply out-wills his opponents. Meanwhile, his balance has improved significantly and he finishes more effectively in traffic."

DeLaurier, who made an unofficial visit with Vanderbilt on Monday morning, continues to evaluate the schools that have expressed an interest and is in no rush to make a decision.

"I know the work I’ve put in is just starting to pay off," he recently told Scout.com. "It’s just a blessing with all the attention I’ve been receiving recently."
