The first-ever 'Friday Night Lights' camp held by the University of Louisville football program was a success.
Similar to a regular camp that attracts prospects with the hope of catching the eyes of college coaches, the 'Friday Night Lights' camp was held under the lights in Papa John's Cardinal Stadium during the evening hours.
The camp, which began at 7:00 p.m., attracted prospects from Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, Tennessee and elsewhere. Current Cardinal commitments Seth Dawkins, Derek Dorsey, Desmond Fitzpatrick, Tylin Oden and Chris Taylor-Yamanoha were among the talented group.
While not a camp participant, former Boise State and current Long Beach Community College linebacker Mat Boesen was in attendance. Making an official visit with the Cardinals program, Boesen will remain in Louisville through Sunday.
Just how good was Dez Fitzpatrick? What side of the ball did Chris Taylor-Yamanoha play on? What's the latest on former Cardinal and current Michigan commit David Reese? What other players stood out? Those answers and more in the in-depth notebook found in the Cardinal Authority Insiders Forum
The 'Friday Night Lights' camp concluded with the prospects gathering at mid-field. Following a brief visit with a few members of the coaching staff, everyone's attention turned to the Papa John's Cardinal Stadium scoreboard for a music enhanced highlight video from the 2014 season.
