Fitzpatrick enjoys Friday Night Lights

Louisville wide receiver commit Dez Fitzpatrick was among the talented group of participants at the Cardinals 'Friday Night Lights' camp.

One of the first to commit to Louisville in the 2016 recruiting class, Desmond Fitzpatrick made another trip to the Derby City to participate in the Cardinals 'Friday Night Lights' camp.

The four-star prospect was one of the standouts during the nearly two hour camp held inside Papa John's Cardinal Stadium. He caught many passes from fellow U of L commit, quarterback Tylin Oden, including an excellent grab against tight coverage on a deep pass into the corner of the end zone.

"The camp went very well," he told Cardinal Authority on Saturday.

Fitzpatrick, who is rated among the top 50 receivers in the nation by, was able to work directly with the Cardinals coaching staff, including his future position coach Lamar Thomas. He also spent time visiting with head coach Bobby Petrino.

"Of course I learned new things," he said. "My visit with Coach P was great. I love talking him and talking about their routes and how they want me to run their own system."

Fitzpatrick also expressed excitement about the commitment of fellow 300 member, quarterback Jawon Pass.

"I was surprised about his commitment," he said. "I didn't think we were going to get him. The Louisville '16 class is going to be great."
