9 Cards on All-ACC preseason ballot

Cardinal Authority is counting down the days until the University of Louisville football team starts the season on Sept. 5 against Auburn in the Chick-Fil-A Classic at the Georgia Dome. It's 48 days before the game and the ACC Football Media Days begin today. Louisville has nine players on the ballot for preseason All-ACC that the media must vote on.

With the ACC Football Media Days beginning today, Cardinal Authority wanted to bring you a look at the preseason ballot and how many Louisville players were honored with a chance to be on the team.

The ACC sends a ballot to every media member who will attend the event in Pinehurst, N.C.

Each member votes for one spot at each of the positions on the field and the league sends the ballot out with players who have been nominated for the honor.

Nine U of L players were on the ballot, including running back Brandon Radcliff and defensive end Sheldon Rankins at their respective positions and also for Player of the Year honors.

Kicker John Wallace was one of five placekickers on the ballot.

Radcliff was joined on the ballot by two other offensive players - wide receivers James Quick and JaQuay Savage.

Rankins was joined on defense by linebackers James Burgess and Keith Kelsey, cornerback Shaq Wiggins and safety Josh Harvey-Clemons.

Jody Demling and Michael McCammon are both attending the ACC media day event and will have complete coverage, including video interviews and the All-ACC preseason team during the event.
