Male High School wide receiver Keion Wakefield made it official on Thursday.

The three-star wide receiver picked the University of Louisville over Kentucky, Indiana and Purdue as expected during a ceremony at Maxwell Field on the Male campus.

"It's the perfect fit for me," Wakefield said. "It's the right place."

The 5-foot-11, 175-pound Wakefield caught 40 passes for 634 yards and 11 touchdowns last season.

Wakefield landed the offer from Louisville last month and his father said he grew up in a "house divided" but noted his son was a fan of the Louisville football program.

Louisville now has 16 commitments in the Class of 2016, including in-state stars Rodjay Burns of Trinity, Derek Dorsey of Manual and Austin Johnson of DeSales. The Cardinals have had success with a bunch of Male products, including Michael Bush, Montrell Jones, Chris Redman, Doug Beaumont and plenty of others.

"I'd love to be the next one," Wakefield said.
