Boykin still "big time" committed to U of L

The University of Louisville has 18 verbal commitments right now in the Class of 2016, including Carrollton, Ga., defensive end Michael Boykin. The three-star prospect said he's still firmly committed to the Cardinals despite an offer from Clemson.

Carrollton, Ga., High School three-star defensive end Michael Boykin said he was excited to find out he picked up a scholarship offer on Sunday from Clemson.

But he said that isn't changing his mind on a college.

Boykin, who committed to the University of Louisville last month, said he is still firmly committed to the Cardinals and doesn't anticipate changing his mind before signing day ion February.

"I am, big time," Boykin said when asked if he was still committed to U of L.

The 6-foot-7, 270-pound Boykin was asked if the offer changed anything at all and he said, "Nope. Not at all. I'm in."

Considered an Auburn lean a few weeks before committing to U of L, the Cardinals increased their efforts in the recruitment of Boykin and hosted Boykin on an unofficial last month. He participated in the Cardinals 'Friday Night Lights' camp, toured campus and the program's facilities, as well as strengthen his relationships with members of the Louisville coaching staff throughout his visit.

Boykin also held scholarship offers from Cincinnati, Florida, Kentucky, North Carolina, Wake Forest and others.
