McGee says Louisville QBs "4 good players"

University of Louisville offensive coordinator Garrick McGee and wide receiver Jamari Staples met with the media on Tuesday night after the Cardinals' first practice of the week. Here's a look at the video:

With less then two weeks until the opener against Auburn, University of Louisville offensive coordinator Garrick McGee and wide receiver Jamari Staples met with the local media.

McGee talked about the quarterback competition, which is still a battle between all four signal callers, the offensive line and its improvement, plus some nice information on wide receivers.

McGee said all four quarterbacks - Kyle Bolin, Reggie Bonnafon, Lamar Jackson and Will Gardner - are in the mix.

"The kids are doing good, and it is hard because all four of them at this point are really good players," McGee said. "And they all bring different things to the table. We really trust all four of them, including Lamar (the freshman).

"They're all doing a really good job, they're under control, and they understand our system. We're proud of them, and we're in pretty good shape at that position."

McGee said the line has tow freshmen - Geron Christian and Kenny Thomas - who really have played well, while he lauded the play of UAB transfer Jamari Staples.
