University of Louisville football coach Bobby Petrino just smiled when he was asked the question about the buzz around his program these days, just one week before the season opener.
"I'm busy preparing, so I'm not paying much attention," Petrino laughed.
But the 'buzz' is real and now it's only going to get louder. One day after unveiling new uniforms that created a buzz with recruits, the Cardinals announced a sell out for next week's game against Auburn and also announced plans for another renovation of Papa John's Cardinal Stadium on Friday afternoon.
"It's all about recruiting," athletic director Tom Jurich said. "You have to get players to win ball games."
Added Petrino: "We feel good about what we are doing right now and the success we've had here. So, we hope to use this as we move forward and do bigger things."
U of L already has a top 30 class in the '16 recruiting ranks and Jurich said this announcement would be "huge" for potential future recruits the Cardinals try and land.
The U of L staff has already sent tweets and photos of the new stadium out on social media and emails.
