Dunham has 'wonderful' Louisville visit

The University of Louisville women's basketball program hosted two big-time visitors over the weekend. Philadelphia post player Bionca Dunham left on Saturday and her father reports the visit went "just great."

A 6-foot-4 post player who is under the radar a bit nationally, Philadelphia Imhotep Charter School senior Bionca Dunham made an official visit to the University of Louisville over the weekend.

Dunham, whose stock has risen in the past month, was making her first official visit. Her father, Jason, said several other official visits are being worked out but nothing "was on paper yet."

"We had a wonderful time," Jason Dunham said. "The coaches were great and it's a very nice place. We have some other places that we anticipate (visiting) but nothing set yet."

Dunham has helped Imhotep to back-to-back Philadelphia City titles. She didn't play a lot of AAU ball but ended up garnering some attention late this summer playing with New Heights out of New York.

"She's been under the radar," Jason Dunham said. "But it's kind of like that for women's basketball here. There's not a ton of attention. She was under the radar but not with the American (Athletic Conference) teams. They were hoping to keep her under the radar.

"She's only played basketball for three years, so it's still new to her. She has really improved."

Louisville has two commitments in the class but will likely take a post player and an athletic wing to fill out the class. The Cardinals have several other post players they are also recruiting.

"We liked them," Jason Dunham said. "They're an option."
