The University of Louisville football staff has scored another recruiting coup in Mississippi.
The Cardinals landed commitment No. 20 for the Class of 2016 and the second in three weeks from Mississippi on Thursday night when Biloxi, Miss., D'Iberville High School safety Jaquelle Green committed.
The 6-foot, 195-pound Green had offers from a bunch of schools, including LSU, Alabama, Ole Miss, Mississippi State and Georgia.
"He's done everything on the high school level," Scout.com Mississippi Scout Yancy Porter said. "He's a solid, solid prospect and a two-way guy who projects as a safety in college. Some schools had questions about his speed, but he's a solid prospect.
"He'll fit in well at free safety on the next level. He's very active and he's a ball hawk."
In four games this season, Green has passed for 564 yards and five touchdowns and run for 664 yards and also had 15 tackles, two recovered fumbles and one forced fumble. As a junior, Green had 800 all-purpose yards, three interceptions and 25 tackles.
In 2013 as a sophomore, Green intercepted seven passes and returned four for touchdowns.
