The University of Louisville football staff has landed another prospect from the state of Georgia.
Marietta, Ga., Kell High School offensive lineman James DeMatto has given the Cardinals a verbal commitment on Friday morning, marking the seventh prospect in the Class of 2016 from Georgia for the Cardinals.
The 6-foot-4, 280-pound DeMatto is an under-the-radar prospect who plays on the line on both sides of the ball for a Kell team that is 3-1. He averages 3.5 tackles a game from his defensive line position.
DeMatto, who attended camp over the summer at Georgia and Florida State, had offers from Syracuse, East Carolina and a host of other smaller schools. He had a total of 10 scholarship offers.
He's the third offensive line commitment in the class for the Cardinals, joining Georgia lineman Robbie Bell and junior-college lineman Dwayne Wallace in the fold for the Cardinals.
