Louisville basketball will host two official visitors and two on unofficial visits this weekend

The University of Louisville basketball team will have a major recruiting weekend, hosting a pair of prospects on official visits and two more coming in on unofficial visits. The Cardinals will have a Red-White scrimmage on Saturday.

Rick Pitino is going to have a busy weekend.

The Hall of Fame coach of the University of Louisville basketball team officially starts practice with his Cardinals' on Friday and will have the first of two Red-White scrimmages on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. in the KFC Yum! Center.

Oh, and then there's recruiting. The Cardinals have a major recruiting weekend on tap with four visitors coming to town.

Irving, Tx., shooting guard Andrew Jones and El Cajon, Calif., forward T.J. Leaf are two of the top targets left on the recruiting board for the Cardinals in the Class of 2016. Both will be on campus for official visits this weekend.

Also a pair of 2017 targets - point guard Davion Mitchell and forward D.J. Harvey - will make unofficial visits.

The 6-foot-4 Jones has been a target for the Cardinals since the summer and is ranked as the No. 30 prospect in the country. Pitino and his staff made an in-home visit two weeks ago and Jones said he was "super impressed."

Jones has already made an official visit to Arizona and is also looking at Baylor, Texas, Texas A&M and SMI.

The 6-10 Leaf is ranked as the No. 22 player in the country and had been previously committed to Arizona. Louisville just recently jumped into the mix and earlier this week Leaf narrowed his list to six schools.

Leaf will also make official visits to Kansas, Oregon and UCLA later this month.

Mitchell is a point guard from Hinesville, Ga., and was offered by U of L in July. He is ranked as the No. 49 player in the Class of 2017. Harvey ranks No. 9 in the '17 class and plays at Hyattsville, Md., DeMatha. Harvey is close friends and AAU teammates with '16 U of L commitment V.J. King.
