Mother of 4-star QB commitment Jawon Pass says her sons visit went "great" and he can't wait to play for Cardinals

Kershena Thomas, the mother of four-star University of Louisville quarterback commitment Jawon Pass, recaps his unofficial visit to campus over the weekend. Pass is one of the top commitments in the Class of 2016 for the Cardinals.

Jawon Pass has watched every University of Louisville football game this season.

On Saturday, the 4-star quarterback commitment from Columbus, Ga., Carver High School got to see his future teammates in person and he left impressed with the team and anxious to become a member of the Cardinals' squad.

"He can't wait to get to Louisville and compete," Kershena Thomas, Pass' mother told Cardinal Authority. "He wishes he could come to Louisville right now. He's anxious and he loves every minute of it.

"He's so ready."

The 6-foot-5, 210-pound Pass picked the Cardinals over Auburn and Alabama back in mid-July and told Cardinal Authority last week that he was "100 percent" committed to the Cardinals.

Thomas said the visit to watch the Cardinals against Syracuse "was exactly what we expected."

"Nothing has changed at all," she said. "It's the same great atmosphere and everyone was very welcoming. We love it and Jawon is building his relationship with (offensive coordinator) Garrick McGee. He's so excited."

While freshman Lamar Jackson didn't play on Saturday and Kyle Bolin led the Cardinals' to victory, Thomas said Pass isn't worried who he'll compete against at the position once he arrives on campus.

"Jawon already looks at Lamar and all the other guys as his teammates," she said. "He's not intimidated or anything like that. He wants to learn from his teammates and try to help everyone get better. But he is competitive."
